So I’m a bit rubbish at keeping up to date with social media so far this year but since the holidays ended I pretty much got straight back to business (as seen by the snap from last week) getting the vocals done for my songs with Homegrown Worship. Illness had prohibited me before Christmas… I prayed the Lord would give me something to say that would encourage and spur you and I on with the Lord. One morning I woke up with the words “God will give the increase”. I knew these words come from 1 Corinthians 3:6 -7 where Paul states “I planted, Apollos watered but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase”. So what was God saying to me?
Day after day the Lord brought these words back to me. Since the Lord has been giving me songs He has also given me their purpose: “to sow seeds of faith through song”. There are those who have watered these seeds, even spread them and taken them to new ground. But it is ultimately GOD who brings the increase. His Word will go out and accomplish His purposes and will not return void. Sometimes we try to measure the success of our work and attribute it to certain methods. I believe that when God initiates a work, He will bring it to fruition and bring the increase for His purposes and in His ways. We must be faithful to keep to the task and trust that He will accomplish His work. It is all about Him.
My prayer is that I may decrease and that He may increase. May His Name be lifted higher through any seeds I sow, may He bring increase to His Kingdom. What a high calling we have to bear the name of Jesus, to sow seeds of hope in a dark and tainted world. May we get out of the way and let Him increase and bring increase in our lives. Bless you all ❤
